With regret, I want to inform you that Ms. Megan McDermot, MSS, who was the Vice
President of GNSD. stepped down from our Board of Directors of our network at the beginning of March. Her decision was motivated by the new commitments related to the second graduate program she just begun this semester.
In 2017 Megan was as an intern in Nepal collaborating with the local Team and helping to establish new Peace and Sustainability clubs. She also started collaboration with the local orphanage, that is still supported by her from Arizona. During her stay in Nepal she helped to draft an application for grant intending to support peace and sustainability education in this country.
It would be impossible to overestimate Megan’s contribution to the development of GNSD. She was always full of inspirational ideas, and provided strategic support for our work on defining the goals for GNSD. She assisted in building new Peace and Sustainability Clubs in Arizona, she developed online system of communication for the Executive Team. She remained in constant contact with the members of Executive Team, and with the members of Nepali Team. Megan worked on development of the policy for GNSD, and actively assisted with writing of 3 grant proposals that will be used to apply for funding our projects. She also coordinated work of our volunteers.
On the personal level: she has been optimistic, full of energy and inspiration, a real motivational leader. She has been an exceptionally reliable member of the team. We hope she will return to work with us after completing her educational program.
