Chowdhury Kaiser Mohammad Riyadh is an Inspirational Speaker, a Self-help Educator and a Global Youth Ambassador. He is the Co-founder of World Happiness & Peace Foundation (under registration). From his childhood, he has carried forward and has kept on avoiding two phobias till the age of 25; at times, he used to stammer so much that he had difficulties in uttering his name even and looking down from the rooftop of just a four-storied building used to trigger fear inside him. From a stammering person, he has transformed himself into an inspirational speaker and back in 2014, he flew to Nepal to do bungee jumping to get over the height phobia.
He, himself has experienced that the only way to overcome any fear, difficulty or challenge is to go through it and to grow out of it. He is a keen learner of life and he has kept himself open to reading, observing, learning from any small stuff or happening all around. He has also observed that many of the youths are after money, power, fame, status and so on, leaving the purpose behind. Everyone is pursuing happiness, but not all are developing the right understanding and awareness of his/her own thoughts! He doesn’t just aspire to make a living, he wants to make a difference every day he lives. Public speaking has been his biggest phobia and he kept on running away from this for a long time; but, since he overcame this fear, self-transformation has become his passion and he has started believing, he can excel on anything & everything he wants to. Out of all the possibilities, he chose to inspire youth by his words, thoughts & actions, an adventure that is so close to his heart and which has become the purpose of his life. Riyadh’s mission is to help youth define their own happiness & success for living a life with purpose. With this, he aims to transform the world by helping youth develop compassion, gratitude, a sense of oneness and fulfillment in their lives and lives of people around, which will eventually contribute to a World of Peace, Happiness & Sustainable Development. Everyone develops a distinct belief-system from his/her family, friends, relatives, schools, teachers & surroundings including what he/she reads, sees, hears or thinks, which, in most cases, grows stronger and inflexible with age. He felt, educating youths & students on developing empathy & compassion, practicing gratitude & self-awareness, building cognitive flexibility & emotional intelligence, respecting other people’s opinion, remaining open to learning, having right perspective & right understanding, connecting passion & purpose with profession are the keys to a Better World, but unfortunately, these are not the skills taught at schools.
To cover this Life Skills Gap, since 2015, he has started working with 13-25 age group. In his mission to continually impact the lives of millions, so far, he has taken self-help & self-development session in 60+ schools, colleges & universities in over 30 districts of Bangladesh (mostly in the remote areas far from the capital city). Moreover, he was invited/accepted to take self-help & inspirational session in Nepal, Malaysia, Indonesia, Turkey & UK including a session at Department of Engineering at University of Cambridge on “Sourcing Happiness & Creating Ripples All Around”. He has also taken self-help sessions in many corporate organizations. He believes, what he does, it has an impact on others and what society does, it has a big impact on the children’s thinking and this partially decides how the future world will be. “What one does, it affects all and what all does, it affects one”. Whatever goal we aim to reach, be it poverty reduction or gender equity or responsible consumption or wealth redistribution, one thing is a must; we need to educate our youth to develop compassion and a sense of oneness for achieving any form of sustainable development. He is spreading the teaching of oneness in the world irrespective of country, race, sex, chaste, religion, belief. During his sessions, he also promotes Planting Trees, Green Commuting, Energy Efficiency & One Meat-free Meal A Day. His sessions have received very good review globally in transforming the thoughts of the youths/students for peace & happiness, discovering life’s meaning and understanding the concept of sustainable development.
He has attended number of international conferences on SDGs, where he delivered inspirational talks too on “Changing Our Thoughts for The World We All Want". From the 17 (seventeen) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of UN, he has been working on “GOOD HEALTH AND WELL-BEING”, “QUALITY EDUCATION”, "RESPONSIBLE CONSUMPTION & PRODUCTION" and "CLIMATE ACTION". His story of overcoming adversity and ability to connect with the audience through daily life examples have made him one of the most authentic, dynamic and inspirational speakers among the youths. Riyadh is an NLP (Neuro-linguistic Programming) Practitioner as well; he received NLP training in UK from Dr. Richard Bandler, who is the co-creator of NLP. In his opinion, “If we want any change, we need change the way we think, which will change the way we feel and that will change the way we do things”.
He is passionate about helping youth develop self-awareness & change their thoughts for a compassionate & peaceful world. He strongly believes, if we can just change the way we think, this will lead us to the World of Harmony, Happiness & Sustainable Development. He was born and raised in Chittagong, Bangladesh. He served Bangladesh Army for six years (including 2 years of military training) and then, he opted for a voluntary retirement as Captain back in 2012. Leaving Army, he worked with Standard Chartered Bank as Relationship Manager for a year. Besides his passionate works for Youth Development, Global Peace, & Sustainable Development, since 2014, he has been working with Expo Freight Limited, one of the leading international logistics service providers as Head of Project & Compliance as he needs to make his living as well! Riyadh holds an MBA in Human Resource Management from Institute of Business Administration, Dhaka University. He and his wife, Ima, have been married over 8 years, and are blessed with a daughter Fatiha. “When we make our own lives better, we inspire others to do the same. Peace at home can bring peace to the world.”
