Mariyam Rifa

Mariyam Rifa is a committed Journalist who showed now and again her potential from the work that she has done till now and the close relations that she has been maintaining with colleagues and peers alike. She is a quick learner, learnt tips and tricks of the field from the early days in Vmedia as a presenter and even at SanguTV as a Journalist.

She displayed her abilities and versatilities to succeed in this field. Being a team member helped her to succeed with her career so far and these skills will help her to reach the starts in Media. Even though she gave all for her professional life, she want to be a role model for the future generations being part of two non-government organizations namely Junior Chambers Maldives (Kaafu) and Regional Alliances for Fostering Youth (RAFY) taking part in various trainings and seminars.

Apart from this, she is also a member of International Youth Committee and Mariyam Rifa is the International Youth Ambassador to Maldives of Youth Parliament Nepal. She has attended few international conferences and she represented Maldives in 1st South Asian Youth Summit 2017 held in Bhubaneswar City, India. Also, she is one of the youngest speakers of SAYS 2017.

Apart from this, she started her academic journey in H.A. Hoarafushi at H.A. Atoll School and currently doing her LLB from Villa College Male’ Campus. The LLB course is affiliated with the University of the West of England. As is this wasn’t enough, she is doing a course in Business Management from Cyryx College. She strives to be the best. To be better than yesterday and to be enriched with knowledge power and information which she can share with the generations to come.

She always wanted to work for the betterment of youths. Currently, she is an Assistant Program Officer in Ministry of Youth and Sports, working under Youth Development and Empowerment Section. Facing challenges head-on and raising over the challenges is her specialty. Once she completes her studies, she would be even stronger competitor in this field with a background in Law and Management. She is one of our outstanding young female citizens who will shape this country for the better.
